Curtis James Terling of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Patricia Terling, and grandson Anthony Austin Terling Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Pam Terling, daughter Laney Gernenz (Ryan), Kelly Jarrett (Jeff), Anthony Terling (Lindsey); grandchildren Brooklyn, Wyatt and Riley Gernenz, Kelsey and Emma Jarrett, Sullivan Terling; siblings, Toni Watt (Hector) and Bob Terling; nephew Hector Antonio Watt as well as numerous extended family members.
He was born in Bossier City, LA and raised in Canonsburg, PA and Montgomery, AL. He graduated from Auburn University and then worked in the Information Technology (IT) field for over 30 years and retired as IT Director for Alabama Department of Public Safety. He was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He enjoyed coaching youth sports and teaching youth Sunday school. He loved attending Auburn University Football and Basketball games, as well as watching and attending his favorite Pittsburgh professional teams. He also enjoyed fishing, eating Italian foods, listening to music and watching old movies. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and traveling the world with his wife.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church followed immediately by a service in the sanctuary. A graveside will be held at Alabama Heritage.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Austin 1st Foundation as they continue to raise awareness and provide support for families with rare diseases and other medical hardships. Austin 1st Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public charity. www.austin1stfoundation.org
