Colonel Mason Durden, age 79 went to be with Lord on August 3rd, 2016, joining his parents, Mason and Mattie Durden, and his beloved son, Richard Dale Durden. Colonel is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Glenn Durden; daughter, Barbara Durden Jones (James Stephen); daughter-in-law, Ginger Durden Coker (Joe); four grandchildren, Stephen Matthew Jones (Meghan McCollum), Rachel Michelle Jones, Zachary Dale Durden, and Mason Warren Durden; one great grandson, Graham Stephen Jones and one great granddaughter due September; and brother and sister -in-law, Carie and Agnes Glenn as well as numerous extended family. Mr. Durden was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and a member of Air Force One Masonic Lodge 889. The family will receive friends at Eastern Hills Baptist Church on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 am with services immediately following at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Alabama Heritage Cemetery following services.
