Clarence Ernest Wright

Ernest Clarence Wright, 81, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Amy Ruth Wright, in June 2017. He is survived by his sons Jeff (Peggy) of Wetumpka, AL and John (Margaret) of Westerville, OH; grandsons Zachary (Sabrina) of Ely, UK, and Gilbert and Arthur (Westerville, OH). Born in Montgomery, Ernie endured a tumultuous childhood with frequent moves around the U.S. After returning to live with his grandparents, he graduated from Williams High School in 1955. He went on to a 30-year career in finance at First Alabama/ Regions Bank, from which he retired in 1999. He was devoted to his family and proud of them. Ernie enjoyed traveling with his wife, following politics, and working out at Hogan's Gym. He kept the cleanest car on earth. We will miss his enthusiasm and his laugh. A Celebration of Life will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 1:00-2:30 pm.
