Clara Leona Bryant Lockwood, 93, died of natural causes in her home on October 30, 2020. She is survived by sister-in-law Betty Ann Austin of Memphis, TN; son Daniel Allen (Diane) Lockwood of Deatsville, AL; daughter Lura Ann Lockwood (William) Oates of Cecil, AL as well as 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Clara is preceded in death by her husband Henry Alanson Lockwood, parents Melvin Hugh Bryant and Lura Lavinia Forster Bryant; brother Melvin Hugh Bryant Jr.; sisters Betty Jean Shockley and Marddie Melzine Hobbs.
Born on June 5, 1927 she enjoyed a career as a dental hygentist at Maxwell AFB retiring in 1987 with 28 years of service. Clara enjoyed a wonderful family life. She married Henry Alanson Lockwood and the couple had 2 children. A devoted member of Grace Presbyterian Church, she was deeply involved in the church for the majority of her life. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and giving person.
A service of resurrection is scheduled for 12 noon on Monday, November 2, at Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Thompson officiating. A reception with light refreshments will precede at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Clara's life.
