Chip H. Gilmer, 71, of Montgomery, passed away June 2, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood H. Gilmer and Mildred Simpler Gilmer Gowan, both of Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Johnson Spivey Gilmer, sister, Tracy G. French (Frank), step children Elaine Spivey Green, Paul E. Spivey (Jeania); grandchildren John Green, Corey Green, Susan Fratesi, Scarlett Spivey and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces Robin French Anderson, Melissa French Gay and Tracey Lynn Poquette and 5 great nieces.
Chip was a member of the 187th Air National Guard and also worked for Capital Chevrolet after his retirement from the Guard. He was a member of Catoma Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 2 PM with a visitation at 1 PM at Leak Memory Chapel. Flowers are accepted or donations to Catoma Baptist Church, heater and air condition fund.
Pallbearers will be Rick Green, John Green, Corey Green, Van Johnson, Bert Pitts, Joe Muschari, Doug Jones, Lawrence Clark and Charles Marrow.
