It is difficult to understand how the shortest of lives can create the greatest chasm of loss for the lives that go on. Yet Jesus taught us that unless we change and become like little children, we will never enter the kingdom of heaven. So Carson, like all God's little ones, has become our teacher, leading us to the throne through his precious little life which, though agonizingly short, we will cherish in memory until we can be with him in our Forever Home where there will be no more tears or sadness.
Though we grieve our great loss, we "do not grieve like those who have no hope, for we believe that Jesus died and rose again" and because of this glorious eternal hope, we will be together with our precious Carson again. Till then we shed our temporary tears knowing that new smiles and laughter await us if we will embrace the One who offers this hope with the same outstretched arms that have gathered our Carson home. "Let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of years is as nothing before You. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure...But now, Lord, what do I look for in the meantime? My hope is in You." [Pslam 39:4-7] "Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings..." [Psalm 17:8] And "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
