KEAHEY, Carolyn Cherry, a resident of Ramer, AL, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 2, 2013, at 1 p.m. from Sampey Memorial Baptist Church, 5394 Hwy. 94, Ramer, AL 36069, with Rev. Robert McMicken officiating. Burial will follow in Ramer Cemetery. Visitation will held at the church on Monday from 12 noon until service time. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie and G.L. Cherry; her husband, Pat Keahey; and her sister, Marjorie Cherry Livert. She is survived by her daughter, Cherry Keahey Fowler (Earl); son, G. Patterson Keahey, Jr.; granddaughter and her husband, Carolyn (CeCe) Fowler Whitt and Murry Whitt; great grandchildren, Casey, Hudson and Maggie Whitt; nephews, William E. Brinkley, Jacksonville, FL and Dr. David E. Livert, Easton, PA. Carolyn was born March 26, 1925, in Sellers Station, AL. At age six, she and her family moved to Ramer, where she remained her entire life. As a young girl, Carolyn learned to play piano which proved to be her love and enjoyment. She was a lifetime member of Sampey Memorial Baptist Church, where she the church pianist for many years. She loved the historic Old Ramer Baptist Church, she and many other have strived to preserve the structure where she and her family first attended church. A career in teaching provided many good memories at Harrison Elementary in Montgomery, Montgomery County High and Dunbar in Ramer. The family wishes to thank Mama’s friends and caregivers, Judy, Essie, Clara, Maggie, Teresa, Angie and Gentiva Hospice. With their love and tenderness, Carolyn was able to remain in her home as she had wanted. Memorial contributions may be to the Ramer Baptist Old Church Fund.
