Carolyn Griggs Boroughs (73), retired Cosmetologist, loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend, passed away at her home on Lake Martin, Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Carolyn, nicknamed "Coochie" by her father, is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years: William (Bill) Robert Boroughs. She is also preceded in death by her daughter; Elizabeth "Renee" Boroughs, sister; June "Sissy" Free and brother; Clayton "Bubba" Griggs. She is survived by her daughter; Denise Burke Dickey (Scooter) and son, William Robert "Rob" Boroughs Jr., grandchildren, Heather Elizabeth Russell, Zachary Benjamin Burke (Courtney), Tiffany Nicole Russell Mims (Paul), Anna Carroll Boroughs, Jacob William Burke (Machelle), Samantha Addie Moates, William Bryce Boroughs along with 14 great-grandchildren. She also had five K-9 children; Holly, Max, Reese, Flo and Saban.
Carolyn Boroughs and her husband loved their life on the water, beach and lake, which was shown by their lifestyle. Carolyn is also known as the modern day "Snow White" for her love of all animals. She fed the deer, squirrels, geese, birds and raccoons every day, some by hand. She will be missed by many, both human and animals.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home located at 909 Lincoln Rd. Montgomery, AL. 36109 with a public visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Tim Davis will be officiating. Burial will follow the Celebration of Life Service in Greenwood Cemetery.
