Carol Auerbach Jones

Carol Auerbach Jones, 59, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away June 26, 2014 from breast cancer.She was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin H Auerbach Jr., June 21, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama. Carol graduated from The Montgomery Academy in 1973 and received her BA in Business from Auburn University in 1977.Guided by her strong faith, Carol dedicated her life to her family, friends, and church. Her passions included mystery novels, horseback riding, rich chocolate, live music, spring flowers, and Lake Martin.After 55 wonderful years as a Montgomery resident, Carol moved to Birmingham, Alabama, in 2011 and became an active vestry member at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church.Carol is survived by two children: Sarah Holland Kornegay (Kevin) of Atlanta and Hogan Jones of Birmingham. She also is survived by her sister Katherine Auerbach Johnson (Paul), brother Ed Auerbach III, and stepmother Ellen Auerbach of Montgomery. In lieu of/ in addition to flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Memorial service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday June 27, 2014 at Grace Episcopal Church, Pike Road, Alabama.Her love and laughter will be remembered and missed by all those who knew her.
