HODGES, Carol Lansden Brewbaker, 79, of Montgomery, Alabama, died Monday, Jan¬uary 23, 2018. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 27 at 1:00pm, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Hampton Davis officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 26 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Leak-Memory Funeral Home, rosary to follow. Mrs. Hodges was the daughter of the late Dick Latta Lansden and Martha Stanfill Lansden of Nashville, Tennessee. She is sur¬vived by her husband, Richard Paul Hodges and her sons William Styne Brewbaker, III (Rebecca) of Tuscaloosa, and Dick Lansden Brewbaker (Ruth) and her daughter Carol Brewbaker Rickard (Do¬nald). She was preceded in death by her husband, William Styne Brewbaker, Jr. Mrs. Hodges is also survived by thirteen grand¬children; Catherine Brewbaker Menendez (John), Mary Lansden Rees-Jones (Huw), William Styne Brewbaker IV, Rebecca Grace Brewbaker, Samu¬el Joseph Brewbaker, David Lansden Brewbaker (Mckenzie), Thomas Garrett Brewbaker, William McCall Brewbaker, Benjamin Lee Brewbaker, James Alexander Brewbaker, Margaret Cald¬well Rickard, Caroline Chris¬tian Rickard, and Martha Claire Rickard; as well as by two great-grandchildren, David Lansden Brewbaker, Jr., and Peter Kenneth Menendez. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Hodges was born in Nashville, Tennessee and attended Harpeth Hall and Vanderbilt University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She married William S. Brewbaker, Jr., in 1958, and they moved, first, to Harlingen, Texas, where he served in the U.S. Air Force, and, in 1961, to Montgomery, where he joined his father in the automobile business. Mrs. Hodges was a faithful Christian, a devoted wife and mother, and active in civic and charitable works in the Montgomery community. Among other activities, she served on the board of directors of the Montgomery Academy, the Montgomery Symphony, Sav-A-Life, and the Working Woman’s Home. She was also a member of various social clubs and President of the Montgomery Junior League.
