Carol Franks Blair, 75 years old, resided in Pensacola, Florida 4 years prior to living in Montgomery most of her life. She went home to our Heavenly Father on July 7, 2023 due to dementia related issues. Carol was born to William Edwards Franks and Edith Fail Franks Johnson in Montgomery in 1947. Soon after her birth the family moved to Florala where she finished high school. While in Florala, she developed life-long friendships (70 yrs.) with Barbara Hollander and Betty Jean Strickland. Carol headed to Troy State University where she made another life long friend in Dorothy "Dot" Pyson.
She was married to Sidney Blair for 11 years. Mrs. Blair worked in accounting becoming an Accountant and Payroll Supervisor with the Alabama State Senate retiring after 37 years of service. Her tenure included a most adventurous trip to Hawaii.
She was very involved in the Church of Christ, loved to garden and sew, and watch Alabama football with her friend, Cam Shaffer. But her favorite activity was spending time with Breanna, her only grandchild. She will be remembered as a selfless person with a big heart that loved her family and friends dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Franks and Edith Fail Johnson; her step-father, Parley Phillip Johnson Sr.; her brother, Spencer Carmichael Johnson; her special friend, Cam Shaffer; and her furry friend, Prissy. Carol is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Mike) Eggers; her grandchild, Breanna Eggers; her siblings, Parley Phillip Johnson Jr., Seth Herbert Johnson, David Henry Johnson and Judy Davis.
A visitation for Carol will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
