Boyd (Buddy) Edward Staley, 73, of Wetumpka, Alabama, passed away on October 15, 2023. Buddy was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on January 9, 1950. He graduated high school in Washington and joined the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge March 1970. He began working for Brockway Glass as a glass operator in Washington and accepted a move to Alabama in January 1980, a mere 3 months after marrying the love of his life. In 1986, Brockway Glass was set to close and he went to nursing school and attained his LPN certificate. He worked proudly as an LPN until he retired in 2004. After a move to Atlanta and then Seattle, they moved back to their dream home amongst the woods in 2009. He attended Trinity Episcopal Church. He was an animal lover, especially a dog lover. He had two Yorkies that will miss him dearly.
Buddy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. It did not matter what was in season, he was in the woods chasing it. If it wasn’t hunting season, he was talking about it or preparing for it. He was a proud member of Big Hill Hunting Club of Titus, AL. God took him Home, on a glorious fall morning, from the one place he loved the most; God’s church in the woods.
