Betty Yarbrough Morgan

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, on April 25, 1927, Betty attended St. Mary Loretto School, where she graduated in 1945 and then went to work for the state of Alabama Department of Industrial Relations.

During her time with the state, she married Arthur L. Morgan Sr. and had two children, Art and Beth. She retired in 1977 after spending 32 years in public service. After retirement, she enjoyed spending summers at Lake Martin with family, attending Auburn football games and spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anice Yarborough, four sisters, Agnes, Edna, Nell and Myrtle, brother, Bill, husband, Arthur L. Morgan Sr., and son, Arthur L. Morgan Jr. (Kathy).

She is survived by daughter, Beth Hicks (Pat), daughter-in-law, Kathy Morgan (Art), grandchildren, Justin Morgan (Madison), Marlee Munroe (David) and Caleb Hicks (Katie) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel July 20, 2023, with Bro. Chuck Francisco officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm and celebration of life immediately following at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat Hicks, Caleb Hicks, Justin Morgan, David Munroe, Chris Bell and John Johnston.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at The Belmont Assisted Living and to the staff, doctors and nurses at Rehab Select – Hillview Terrace.
