June 25, 1935 - June 5, 2021
Betty Jo Fletcher Jones went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 5, 2021. She was born in Adel, Georgia but spent most of her adult life in Montgomery. She was a long-time member of Capitol Heights Baptist Church. Betty loved her family, especially her six grandchildren. Outdoor grilling, eating barbeque chicken, and swimming were among her favorite activities with the family. She loved gardening, flowers, hummingbirds, red birds, and anything patriotic including displaying red, white, and blue Santas at Christmas.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Linton Lindel Jones. She is survived her three sons, Rick Jones (Donna), Mike Jones (Cynthia), Doug Jones (Louise) and her grandchildren, Stephanie Bell (Travis), Andrew Jones (Frances), Trent Jones (Shelby), Abigail Rodgers (Jake), Rachael Houseal (Bradford), and Britton Jones (Daphney), as well as ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Stevenson.
Although she battled Alzheimer’s Disease for more than ten years, she still managed to laugh and smile. She fought the good fight and has now finished the race. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
The family would like to thank the nurses, caregivers, and staff at Wetumpka Health and Rehab for their excellent care for so many years.
A graveside service honoring her life will be Sunday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, with Reverend Kirby Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing”.
