Betty Lynn Hudson

Betty Hudson, age 86 of Montgomery, AL passed to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 29, 2016. Betty was born April 15, 1930. She is the daughter of the late Margaret and Clarence Lynn. She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hudson. She is retired as Purchasing Agent after 47 years in banking. She was active in promoting the March of Dimes during her banking years. Betty was a charter member in the building of Lake Martin Baptist Church and is currently a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Betty was a loving mother and friend. She enjoyed holidays with family and entertaining with friends. She is survived by her daughter, Lynnda May Levitt, her son, Charles May (Dixie), and extended family, Vicki Vinson, and Steven and Glenda Vinson. She was a devoted Nana to five grandchildren, Beth L. Cox (Larry), Farrell Levitt (Debey), Jamie L. Carpenter (John Paul), Melanie May, and David Levitt (Kassy), ten great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kathleen, Reilly, Jeremiah, Luke, Adalyn, Brooke, Khloe, Joshua, Asher, and great- great grandchild, Anna. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 1:00-2:00PM with a Chapel Service starting at 2:00PM. A burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Ed Gipson, JP Carpenter, Larry Cox, Steve Vinson, and Russ Dunman. Honorary Pallbearers include: Col. Gene Crooks, Col. Mike Keeting, Walt Goss, Jim Miller, and Gary Abrahamson. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses for their loving care while at Oak Grove Inn Assisted Living and Capitol Hill Health Care Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Montgomery Humane Society, 1150 John Overton Dr., Montgomery, AL 36110 or to the March of Dimes.
