Bernice Lutrell Smith

She was born and raised in Dothan. She graduated from Dothan High School and attended Huntingdon College.

She retired from Federal Civil Service at Maxwell AFB and enjoyed her years in retirement playing bridge, line dancing, and square dancing.

She was a long-time member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church for over 51 years, and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Bellehurst Garden Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, V V Smith USAF Ret. She is survived by son, Jim Mitchell Smith (Linda) of Sunrise Beach, MO; daughter, Sandra Gouge (Fred) of Troy, AL; grandson, Cooper Gouge of Houston, TX; nieces, Jackie Coker of AL and Diane Turner of MO; a nephew, Fred Rogers of CA; and great niece Janice Duks of TN.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL with Rev. Larry Armstrong and Rev. Steve Winton officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time in the Chapel of White Chapel Funeral Home.
