James E. Broaden and Mary Louise Boyd Broaden. Barbara was married to Clark H. Adams Jr. Although they later divorced, they still remained friends.
On May 10, 2024, Barbara joined the awaiting host of angels including her sister Marilyn
Jenkins and brother David Broaden.
Barbara confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Bell Street Baptist No.2/Bell Resurrected. Throughout her lifetime, she remained faithful and committed to the work and service of God, until the Lord called her to eternal rest.
As a young women Barbara moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be with her older siblings. She lived there for many years and later moved back to Montgomery, Alabama. It was then that she got a chance to truly excel in one of her callings. Working with children at Hansel and Gretel Daycare. She enjoyed the opportunity to help mold and inspire youth on a daily basis there. She looked forward to walking through the doors of Hansel and Gretel until the very last day. Barbara was a very hard worker with great work ethic.
Barbara enjoyed many things in life. Santuck, crossword puzzle’s, cooking/baking(That Pound Cake), University of Alabama sports, any family or church events but the thing she enjoyed most was being there when a person needed it most(Especially her Grandkids).
Barbara legacy will continue to live on through her three devoted and loving children, Clark
(Yolanda) Adams (Montgomery, Ala.) Alicha (Oscar) Belser (Las Vegas, NV.) and Rico
(Trameka) Adams (Montgomery, Ala.) 19 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Barbara
leaves behind 9 siblings to cherish her memories, James E. Broaden, Jr. and Reginald Broaden
(Las Vegas, NV), Leroy Broaden and Terence Anthony (Betty) Broaden (Montgomery, Ala.),
five sisters, Minister Rita (Alonzo) Green, Brenda (late Rev. Clifford) Johnson, Lenetta Forshee,
Alzora (Robert) Washington (Montgomery, Ala) and Valerie German (Las Vegas, NV). A host of
loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Bell Resurrected Baptist Church, 4800 Birmingham Highway, Montgomery, AL 36108.
