Avis Scoggins

Avis Scoggins was born December 12, 1918, and passed away on December 20, 2017. Her very special caretaker for the last four years was her great granddaughter, Christina Crowder and husband Shaun. She was preceded in death by her husband; Aaron H. Scoggins, two sisters; Maudie Taylor and Mary Clyde Woodruff and two grandsons; David W. Scoggins and Daniel L. Scoggins. She leaves behind a son; David M. Scoggins and six grandchildren; Aaron L. Scoggins, Anita Jameson, Rose Weston, Lisa Campbell, Ken Harris, and Melvin Mims and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and was known to everyone as grandma. She had a wonderful sense of humor that kept us laughing often (she told a lot of great stories). She had a heart of gold and was always there for anyone in need. She will be greatly missed by our family but we know grandma is with Jesus and singing with the angels. Services are set for Saturday, December 23, 2017 with a 12:00 pm visitation and a 1:00 pm funeral service at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. A graveside will follow at Montgomery Memorial.
