BROADWAY, Annie Laurie, Captain (ret., Montgomery County Sheriff's Department) 84, a longtime resident of Ramer, Alabama passed away on July 19, 2014. Mrs. Broadway enjoyed a career in law enforcement of more than 25 years having first served in the Montgomery Police Department followed by service in the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department where she rose to the rank of Captain. She served as the Program Coordinator for the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Pine Level Baptist Church with Rev. Lenny Bolton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Hills Chapel cemetery. Mrs. Broadway was preceded in death by three infant children, her husband of 61 years, Amos P. Broadway, daughter Shirley A. Lancaster, son-in-law Leonard Lancaster, brother James Doggett, brother-in-law Roger Buchanan and sister-in-law, Mattie Faye Doggett. She is survived by one son, Amos J. (Lynn) Broadway, brothers Davis (Helen) Doggett, Clyde Doggett and sister Betty Buchanan, one sister–in-law Peggy Doggett, one brother-in-law Edward Broadway (Betty), one grandson Kevin (Kelly) Lancaster, one granddaughter Donna (Tim) Bradley, three great-grandchildren Leonard 'Buddy' Lancaster, Brittney Lancaster and Jesse Dawkins.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to all the caring staff of Angels for the Elderly, Dadeville Healthcare Center and Southern Care Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pine Level Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5, Pine Level, Al 36065.
