Ann Gracey Gillespie, 61, a resident of Montgomery for 22 years, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019. She was a member of Grace Pointe Church of Christ. She was born in 1957 in Lafayette, Indiana. She was raised as a Military dependent and lived in eight US locations plus South Korea, Canada, and Puerto Rico. She was a graduate of Auburn University in Fine Arts with a focus on Design & Illustration. Her career included working with various advertising agencies in Birmingham. From 1997-2006, she served as Creative Arts Director at Bass Anglers Sportsmen’s Society. She began Gillespie Graphic Design, Inc. and was self-employed from 2006-2014. Her special interests included raising and training Arabian horses, hunting and fishing, reading, as well as painting and illustration. Ann enjoyed time at Lake Martin swimming and boating. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Gracey, Jr. and her stepfather, Paul C. Mathews. She is survived by her husband, Dean Gillespie; her mother, Margaret Harbor Gracey Mathews; her sister, Sally Gracey Byrd (Chuck); her niece, Sarah Byrd Hillyer (Josh); great nieces, Harbor and Zelda; uncle, Royce D. Harbor (Addigene) of Eutaw, AL; cousins, James S. McClanahan of Memphis, TN and Mina McClanahan Coy of Las Vegas, NV.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Grace Pointe Church of Christ with visitation at 10:30am followed by the service at 11:30am. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 10:00am at Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery, Sanford Ave., Auburn, Alabama.
