Allen Denis Lang

Colonel Lang a long time resident of Montgomery passed away on February 8, 2021 after an extended illness. Al was born in Alexandria, MN, on September 27, 1934 to LeRoy and Frances Lang. He was the oldest of three boys and two girls, Joan Miller, Earl (Sandra) Lang, Lois Lang, and Ben (Debra) Lang.

He enlisted in the Air Force in 1956, and attended aviation cadet training. He then graduated as a navigator. He was assigned to Strategic Air Command for his major service flying missions around the world and retired as a full Colonel and commander of the Air Force Data Services Center Gunter AFB, Al after 30 years of Service

He met and married the love of his life, Barbara Wright at Maxwell AFB, Al. They were married for 46 years and have three beautiful girls; Julie (Gerhard) Buettner, Teresa (Frank) Crook, and Brenda (Dave) Holden, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

They enjoyed family time, traveling, spending time at their cabin on Lake Martin, playing cards with friends, and cruising.

He will be missed by all – he has left a big void in our family.

A visitation for Al will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117. A rosary service will occur Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3870 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36109. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3870 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36109. He will be buried at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.

The family would like to extend our "Thank You's" to the Physicians Choice Dialysis, Sapphire for their care, treatment, and comfort to Al during his illness.

The family request in lieu of flowers to please make donations to the Montgomery Humane Society or to Catholic Services or a charity of you choosing in Al's name.
