Adam Philip Brooks of Foley, AL, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012. He was born on July 9, 1981, in Montgomery, AL, to Jennifer and David Brooks. Adam Philip was employed by the Christian Life Church of Orange Beach, AL, as their worship pastor. Previously, he worked as music minister at Christ Community Church in Montgomery. Survivors include Adam Philip's parents, Jennifer and David Brooks; his sisters, Lauren Henderson (Joel) and Corrie Wilson (Brad) and his niece, McKayla and nephews, Austin & Jacob, grandparents, Steve and Tammy Kervin & Kay and Ralph Ivy, aunts and uncles, cousins, and oh, so many friends. To say he was an inspiration to those who knew him would be the understatement of the century. With today's technology, there is no wondering how, those who had the honor of having Adam Philip in their lives, felt. You need only to log on to his facebook page to see the hundreds of testimonials of friends and family who loved this young man beyond measure. It is filled with the love and joy he brought to all who knew him. His smile always let you know he was glad to see you, his hug left no question of how much you were loved, and his voice could lift you to heaven from the first note. Adam Philip had a way of bringing you into the song, feeling it for the first time; making you want to embrace the words as he embraced you with his music. He sang at church and he sang at weddings. He sang the National Anthem at the Montgomery Biscuits baseball game and he sang with his band-Adam and the High Tides. He will be remembered for his music. More importantly, Adam Philip will be remembered for his love and devotion to God, to his parents , family, and to his friends. He was our gentle giant, “our Bubba.” A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God Church, 135 Bell Road, Montgomery, AL; with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at Leak-Memory Chapel from 3:30-5:30 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
