Willie Roper, age 67, of Maylene went to rest with the Lord Friday, March 4, 2016. He was a dedicated husband of 48 years to wife Sue Roper and father to Leslie (Roper) Maddox, Russell and wife Robbin Roper. He provided for, loved and cherished his family beyond comprehension. Willie was an avid Alabama fan and also loved searching for Native American artifacts with his best friend, Charles Griffin. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Sue, daughter Leslie, and son and daughter-in-law Russell and Robbin. Willie is preceded in death by father and mother Hosey and Helen Roper. Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, he will be truly missed by all. The family will receive friends 1-3pm Monday, March 7th at Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church with funeral service to follow at 3pm. Pastor Mike Ensminger will officiate and burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Maylene.
