He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jackson Compton; daughters, Denise Compton Miller (Thomas) of Noblesville, IN, and Sara Compton of Montevallo, AL; sons, Doug Compton (Rhonda) of Tipton, IN, Shawn Compton (Meagan) of Montevallo, AL; Joe Compton (Cassie) of Calera, AL and Patrick Compton of Calera, AL; brothers, Ralph Compton, and Troy Compton (Retha), both of Morristown, TN,; 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Charlie Compton; mother, Rosetta Horton Seal; father, Louie Edward Compton; and sister-in-law, Millie Compton.
He worked as a mechanic, and enjoyed fishing, camping and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Enon Baptist Church in Montevallo, Alabama. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Bro. Bill Trawick will officiate.
