W. Paul Hester 79, (September 3, 1939 – June 26, 2019) Mr. Hester, of Montevallo, was born in Jasper, AL and was preceded in death by his parents, WG Hester, Mary and Fred Lavigne (stepfather), and Thomas Bolen (stepfather). He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Hester; sisters, Sherer Averette and Joyce Colburn; brother, Tom Bolen (Mary); daughters, Rebecca Gordon (Adam) and Joann Jackson (Jonathan); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Leah and Ben Gordon, and Katelyn, Jordan, Madison and Kylie Jackson; Aunt, Delora Waddell; sister-in-law, Paula Clowdus (Randy); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was a graduate of Perry County High School and served in the National Guard. He was a long-time employee of BEBCO before retiring in 2002 from RBI in Richmond, VA. Mr. Hester was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, a Mason, a Shriner, and an avid fan of Auburn sports and NASCAR.
Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with funeral services following at 11:00am at the church with Father Raymond Dunmyer conducting the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer, AL. Those who wish to make a charitable donation in Mr. Hester’s honor are encouraged to consider the Shriners' Burn Hospital or the Building Fund at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
