Teddy Wayne Gentry, age 80, of Pea Ridge, passed away October 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, George Patrick “Pap” Gentry and his mother, Essie Ray Gentry. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Ann Gentry; daughters, Katrina Ann Burton and Karman Kay Dailey; sister, Lynda Cunningham; and grandchildren, Jay, Tabitha, Alex, Lindsey, Reagan and Rush Tanner. Ted was ordained as a deacon in 1970. Most recently, he was a member of Dogwood Grove Baptist Church. He served for many years as a leader in the church and touched innumerable lives along the way. Ted was inducted into the United States Army 2nd Armed Rifle Battalion 52nd Division Infantry on 4/3/1958 and honorably discharged on 4/2/1964. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal in service. Ted was a loving, devoted husband, father and “Papaw.” His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with visitation beginning at 12:00. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery at 2:45 PM.
