Sherry Dean Hoots

Sherry was a bus driver for Montevallo School District for 15 years. She then retired from the Mercedes-Benz plant after 15 years of service. Sherry was a wonderful wife, mother and Gammy to her family. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with family. Sherry was the definition of selfless; she always would help take care of anyone in need. She had a big heart and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 41 years, Greg Hoots; son, Sean (Nicole) Hoots; daughters, Jamie (Evan) Wheat and Ashley Hoots; grandchildren, Ashton Hoots, Ronin Hoots, Ella Jo Wheat, Tatum Wheat, and Finn Hoots; brothers, James (Jackie) Moses, Gary (Shelley) Moses, and Jeral (Robin) Moses; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her father, Hilmon Moses; mother, Ella Dean Moses; and sister, Clemie Ann Moses.

A visitation for Sherry will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Her funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ashby Baptist Church, 35 Brickyard Pass, Brierfield, Alabama 35035 with her burial following at Old Union Baptist Church, 1094 Oakley Station Road, Randolph, AL.

Pallbearers will be Ashton Hoots, Carson Moses, Evan Wheat, David Epperson, George Hall, Bruce Hyer, Steve Humphries, and Alvin Lawley.
