Scott retired in 2005 after many years as an MVS Tractor Trailor Driver for the United States Postal Service. After retiring, Scott and his family moved to Montevallo.
Scott loved to fish, collect hot wheels and tinker on old cars with his son. He loved NASCAR, Alabama Football (Roll Tide) and was a diehard Washington Redskins Fan. He loved baking and decorating cakes, (he made every single birthday cake for his son). He loved spending time with his 2 little Chihuahuas, Rosie & Chloe. He enjoyed taking long road trips with his son in his 2005 Ford F350 Dually. He loved decorating his yard every holiday for the neighbors. Scott loved to be outside and felt most at home on the water. His favorite place was at his parent’s lake house in Deltaville, Virginia sitting on the pier fishing with his family.
He was an active board member for the Pea Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Tom Douglas Abel and his mother, Shirley Jean Richards Abel. Both sets of grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Brandyn Scott Abel, best friends, Sandra Abel-Robertson & Nate Robertson, life-long friends Kerry Brenneman, David Grogg (Shirley), several aunts, uncles and cousins, his 2 beloved pups and all the friends he met along the path of his life.
Scott was a one-of-a-kind person who truly never met a stranger. He was a people person who loved everyone from the young to the old.
