Robert Douglas Watts, age 74, of Alexander City, Alabama passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Robert was born April 24, 1946 in Waterbury, Connecticut. Robert was a 3 Purple Heart Veteran in the Vietnam War. He was also awarded a Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, and Vietnamese Campaign Medal. Robert was incredibly proud to serve his country. He enjoyed golf in his leisure time. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marjorie Watts; and his beloved Nana.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years Rebecca; son, David Mitchell (Christi) and their son, Dennis Mitchell; daughter, Larissa McWaters (Lee) and their children, Elaine, Emily, and Jeffrey McWaters; grandchildren, James Scalf, Brandon Scalf, Jonathan Scalf, and Shelby Crowson; several great-grand children brothers, William Watts (Nora Kaye), Richard Watts, Donald Watts (Paula), and Dave Watts (Terri); sisters, Linda Austin (Russell), and Lisa Brodeur; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A Committal Service with honors will be held at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Marie and Ricky Moore to officiate. The service may be viewed remotely via livestream at www.facebook.com/rockcofuneralhome
