Rick Norris

Rick Norris, age 65, of Brierfield, Alabama, passed away on December 15, 2016. He grew up in Alexandria, AL, attended Jacksonville State University and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was a Certified Public Accountant and worked at Conrad, Burnette, Norris and Gordon. Before moving to Brierfield, he attended Homewood Church of Christ. He loved going to the beach, sailing, and, when he had time, quail hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Norris and Mary Etta Norris. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Emily “Kay” Norris; daughter, Sheivella Messick of Calera; granddaughter, Amber Messick; great-granddaughter, Rayna Grace Messick; and sisters, Rita Gardner (Jimmy) of Colorado and Robbie Ball of Alexandria. A Celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with visitation from 1:00 until 2:00. Bro. Steve Johnson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s.
