Rachel V Tate

Rachel V Tate passed away at the age of 75 at Shelby Baptist Hospital. Born in Whigham, Ga, she was a daughter of the late Joel Peacock Curry and Laura Fairbanks Curry. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was retired from Central State Bank after 30 years of service. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. She was always ready to go on a new adventure. Ms. Tate was preceded in death by her brother Ben Curry and her sisters Sarah Shelley, Doris C. Hobbs, and Alma C. Scott. She is survived by her brothers Curtis Curry and Hugh Curry and his wife, Virginia; children Sherry T. Pugh and husband, Dale, and Sam (Bo) Tate II and wife, Melissa; grandchildren Blake Strevel, Laura Strevel, Nikki Mestre and husband, Adam, and Niki Stanton; and great grandchild Kirsten Stanton. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church from 10-11 and the service at 11. The graveside service will follow at Shelby Memorial Gardens.
