Patricia Ann Gans

Patricia Ann Wallace Gans, age 81, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Patricia served in the US Navy, and was wooed by Douglas Gans at the US Naval College in Newport, Rhode Island, where they both worked. They married on September 24, 1965. Over the course of their lives together, they lived in 32 different houses to advance Doug's career. Ultimately, they settled in Alabaster, Alabama and owned Snag Equipment until January 2024. She was a dedicated stay at home mother to her children, as well as others in the neighborhood. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, reading books, researching old coins, and playing cards. She was a fan of Auburn football, as well as the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves, and New York Yankees. She delighted in her morning ritual of a Starbucks caramel latte and apple fritter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Douglas Robert Gans, and her Aunt Joyce Kimbrell (Donald). She is survived by her children, Doreen "Regina" Gettig (Rob), Dennis Gans (Bertha), and Douglas Gans, Jr. (Tammy); and grandchildren, Dylon Bearden, Damon Gans, AJ Gans, Megan Gans, and Samantha Anne Gans.

A visitation for Patricia will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Following the visitation will be a burial at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
