Michael E. Upton

Michael E. Upton, age 56, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Mike graduated from Shelby Academy and attended the University of Montevallo of a baseball scholarship. He loved coaching softball for the Alabama Bruisers and the Montevallo Bulldogs. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, growing vegetables, singing off-key and watching Alabama football. Most of all, he loved raising his daughters and being a great Paw Paw.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Eugene Upton; and nephew, Timothy Luke Davis. He is survived by his daughters, Savannah Upton and Destiny Upton; grandchildren, Zane Upton, Zaiden McKenzie and Nevaeh McKenzie; mother, Jimmie Nell Madison Upton; sisters, Pamela Jean Upton Weber (Daryl) and Crystal Marie Upton Davis; and brother, Merle Eugene Upton, Jr.; several nieces and nephews; his best dog, Sinbad; and numerous friends and teammates.

A celebration of life service for Michael will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115, followed by a reception from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Attire is casual.
