Michael Edwin Sims

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Jack and Sara Jane Sims.

He is survived by hi brother Dennis Sims (Vicki); sister, Nancy Evans, his nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.

Michael Graduated from Montevallo High School. After Graduation he went on to serve his country in the United States Army; where he was awarded The National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter (m16) Marksmen Badge. When Michael returned home he began his career with the City of Montevallo; he stayed a loyal employee until he retired at the age of 57. After retirement Michael spent his days hunting, fishing and helping his brother on the farm. He loved his Auburn Tigers and enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed the recent gathering with his former classmates. Michael may have seemed a bit rough around the edges, but in truth he was a loving, caring man; he had a personal relationship with God, and we know today he is looking down on us from Heaven.

A visitation for Michael will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will occur at Montevallo City Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.
