She was born in a cabin in the woods outside of Marion, AL. on April 10th. Linda was the youngest of nine children born to her parents. Linda and Buddy loved to travel, listen to music, and watching sports when they weren't spending time with family and loved ones. Linda was an avid reader and a great cook. She loved and adored her seven children, 20 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed keeping many children in her home and kept fond memories of each of them.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hiram "Buddy" Hooten; parents, James and Dolly Fondren; oldest son, Randy Hooten.
She is survived by her children, Jay Hooten (Melinda), Susan Griffin, Mark Hooten (Christy), Amy Mizell (Richard), Nicholas Hooten (Niki), and Nathan Hooten (Darbe); grandchildren, Chris Criswell (Sarina), Jonathan Hooten, Beth Hooten, Zach Hooten, Brandy Garrison, Belle Griffin, Savannah Griffin, Miranda Mitchell (PJ), Michael Hooten (Samantha), Chase Hooten, Jake Hooten, Madison Hooten, Andrew Mizell (Samantha), Noah Mizell, Eric Mizell, Kara Hooten, Kenna Hooten, Chase Helbing, Kinsley Hooten, and Konnor Hooten; great-grandchildren, Lilly Criswell, Jaxson Garrison, Joseph Mitchell, Haley Mitchell, MJ Hooten, Colt Hooten, and Thomas Mizell.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 1 pm- 2 pm at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo, AL with a graveside to follow at Pondville Cemetery in Brent, AL.
