Kenneth Samuel “Kenny” Vance, age 67 passed away November 18, 2016 at his home in Calera, Alabama after an extended illness. He was born March 1, 1949, in Johnson City, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carson and Elsie Vance; brother, Johnny; sister, Edna. Kenny was a Vietnam Army Veteran, and was retired from the UAB Security Force. He leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years Wanda; sister, Joyce Vance; step-children, Michael Mays, Victoria Fraizer; special daughter, Laurie Wilkerson; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; other extended family and a host of friends from his church. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church from 10-11 AM followed by his celebration of life service. Burial of Kenny’s cremated remains will be at 1 PM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jemison, Alabama with the rendering of military service honors.
