Ken, you are so loved and will be missed just as much.  We both married into a great family and I’m glad to have had you in my life. Your time on earth will be cherished by all and the memories you leave behind.

I met Ken and his family at Metro Church. Our daughters became fast friends and when we realized that Ken's mom and step-dad lived right across the road from us, our families just became connected. Ken and his family were one of the first families we really connected with after we moved to Alabaster and it's been a great 8 years. Even though our families didn't get to be around each other as much as we would have liked, we did make time to have family games nights a few times. One of the last things Ken said to me was he wanted us to get together for more game nights. I think he really enjoyed seeing our families connect through the fun and laughter that comes from the simple things like that. We'll keep having games nights for you buddy.

I have the honor of calling Ken my friend for the last quarter century. We met my first day of classes at Southeastern University in Lakeland Florida. I pulled up on a motorcycle and Ken was standing outside counseling another student. I was a police officer at the time and was in uniform which caused the other student to panic and  take off running. So we both went after him to ensure he was safe (which he was), and a friendship was born that day.

Ken was a great counselor as he listened well, and was always kind and thoughtful with his words. We became roommates for the final two years of study and enjoyed many adventures together.

I rejoined the US Army after graduation and sadly missed he and Yesy’s wedding but they were there for my wedding to Irma the next year. He was our daughter’s godfather and throughout the years our families have stayed close.

While we are heartbroken he is rejoicing in heaven and will be there to welcome us with a huge bear hug and hearty laugh!

My husband, Jason, and I are thankful to have been a part of Ken’s life. We met him while attending Southeastern (then College) University. He was always quiet, thoughtful and kind. One of those people who lived his testimony instead of shouting it to the world. We’ll miss his kindness and strong southern accent. But we’re looking forward to the day when we’ll see each other again. Our hearts go out to the family.

I remember attending Point of Grace Church (formally Shades Mountain Church of God) with Ken. He was such a fine man and great man of God. He was so helpful when we were starting our "small groups" back then. So sorry to hear of his passing. Well done, Good and faithful servant!! 

Ken and I was at Fort Rucker AL together and became friends and went years without talking after we got out and then we connected on FB a couple of years ago. I’m truly sorry for your loss and he will be missed.

What I remember about Ken was his gentle, kind, strong presence. He was so humble but exuded such strength,  there was a peace about him. Though I have not seen him since college, he was a person I was blessed to have known and a rare person. I loved following his journey on social media, he ran his race with excellence.
