John Delano "Biggon" Terry

Terry, John Delano “Biggon,” age 83, of Montevallo, passed away October 3, 2016. He was in born in Covington, Virginia to Herbert and Martha Terry. He attended Covington High School and Virginia Tech. He left college to serve in the United States Air Force in the Korean War. He worked for Sears & Roebuck, First Alabama Bank and, for the last 25 years of his career, in Hospital Administration at multiple institutions across the Southeast. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was an active member of University Baptist Church in Montevallo. Biggon was an avid Hokie and Crimson Tide fan, a true patriot, and a wonderful family man. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Burton Jane Terry; and sister, Elizabeth Terry. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Flippo Terry; son, John Michael Terry (Lynn); grandchildren, John Baxter Terry, Liz Ann Terry, George Michael Terry and Zoie Lynn Terry; and brother, Cameron Terry (Carol). A Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:30PM at University Baptist Church, with visitation to begin at 12:30. His committal service will follow at 2:45 at Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation at www.rettsyndrome.org.
