Jesse Daniel Davis died February 11, 2020. He was 88. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lessie Davis of Shelby, Alabama; 8 siblings; and 1 grandson. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha Harless Davis; and his children: Greg Davis (Cindy), Susan Evans (Bob), Phillip Davis (Heather) and Cheryl Riley (Terry). Papa has 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with one on the way. Jesse served in the Army in Korea and was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant. He retired as a machinist from Herman Williams Company. He attended East Lake and Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Churches and was an ordained elder.
The family will receive friends at Rocko Funeral Home in Montevallo on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 1 pm to 2 pm with a Funeral Service to follow. Pastor Duwayne Pounds will officiate. Graveside Service, Friday, February 14, 10:15 am, at Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Jimmy Hale Mission, or a charity of your choice.
