Jerry Wayne Cook age 67, of Silverhill, Alabama passed away on December 18, 2023. Jerry was born in Madison County, Al on March 5, 1956. He enlisted in the Army in 1973 at the end of the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1979. He acquired his CDL and spent most of his adult life driving big trucks. From 18 wheelers, tow trucks, and most recently working for American Concrete Supply in Foley, Al. Jerry prided himself in his work ethic and put in 50-hour weeks frequently. Whether a cat or a dog, they would find their way to his lap. His biggest love was his family though, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed spoiling them and taking them along on trips as often as he could. There was never a time when he told them “No”.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Granville Waitman Cook; brothers, Carlos Cook, Ray Cook, and Granville Cook, Jr. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kelly Johnson Cook; mother, Elizabeth Turner Cook; daughters, Rebekah Nowlen (Larry) and Kayla Green (Thomas); sons, Bart Grantham (Julia) and David Grantham (Amanda); and 11 grandchildren; Alyssa, Ava, Hannah, Ethan, Madilynn, Kailynn, Noah, Kora, Scarlett, Collier, and Lincoln.
The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Springs, MS for the love and compassion shown during this difficult time.
