Janet Erma Weaver, age 79, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021. Janet was born March 27, 1942, in Bremen, Georgia to Grady Davis Weaver and Rozell Weaver (later Collins). Janet was the youngest of four siblings, she was the only girl. Janet was a country girl at heart and her faith in the Lord was strong. She worked hard in her young life working on the family farm which included some cotton picking. She loved animals as much as her family, they were family, and always had a cat, fish or dog close. Jan graduated Bremen High School and soon married her first love, James P. Christopher, Airforce Corpsman. Jan travelled the world and had three daughters Patricia, Kathleen and Nicky. She also began pursuing a nursing degree while living in Iran.
Jan’s travels took her and her family from Bremen, Georgia to South Carolina, California, Iran, Texas, Virginia, Missississippi and finally Alabama. She spent time with her three children and grandchildren. The sun set and rose on her grandchildren. Jan would sing and play piano, she could fool anyone in Karaoke singing Patsy Cline songs. She also would make up her own songs and learned to pluck a guitar. She loved Elvis. Jan could crochet, cook, write, paint and draw. She loved the arts.
Jan settled in Birmingham Alabama and soon after, Montevallo, Alabama where she met and fell in love with Montevallo native, Richard James Zucco (Rick). These two would travel all over fishing, shopping, exploring quaint country spots and taking quick trips to Dauphin Island. These two were inseparable and enjoyed one another's company. Their little dog Jolena (Jo Jo) would always tag along.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Rozell; brothers, Dumer Weaver and Melvin Weaver; and first husband, James; as well as her beloved great grandparents.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Rick Zucco; daughters, Patricia R. Christopher (Philip), Kathleen M. Christopher and Nicky Christopher (Jacob); grandson, David Rodulfo III (Jessica); great grandchildren, Carter, David IIII, Savannah, Kathleen and Christopher Rudolfo; her beloved brother, Crawford Weaver; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Jan was a joy to be around. She could hold a conversation for hours if she liked you. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service for Janet Erma Weaver will be held at a later date to be announced.
