Emily Anne Parker Battle, age 83, of Maylene, Alabama passed away on September 11, 2017. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Auburn University. She taught Mathematics at University of Alabama at Birmingham and University of Montevallo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alabaster. She enjoyed reading and travelling with her husband in their camper. Anne was preceded by her parents, Dr. William Vann Parker and Carolyn Parker. She is survived by her husband, John Mosley Battle; children, Steve Shoemaker (Darla), Dr. Ben Shoemaker (Katrina), John Russell Battle (Dawn), Bill Shoemaker (Daricer), Robert Shoemaker (Julie), and Tina Walker; 35 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ted Parker; and sister, Jean Bishop (Tom). Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Six Mile Baptist Cemetery in Brierfield.
