Eleanor Downs Meredith

Eleanor Downs Meredith, age 73, of Calera, Alabama passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Eleanor was the daughter of Eddie Griffith Downs and Rebecca Nelson Downs. She was a graduate of Calera High School and a lifelong member of Calera Baptist Church. She was known for her generosity, sense of humor, dedication to family and love of baking for others.

Eleanor is survived by her husband of 35 years, Sam Meredith; daughters, Tami Watts (Alan) and Amy Rissler (Trevor); grandchildren, Tyler Watts, Haley Hyde (Jeremy), Sophia Rebecca Rissler; and great-grandchildren, Ledger Watts, Asher Watts, Grant Hyde and Walker Hyde.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Calera Baptist Church, with visitation to begin at 10:00 AM. Bro. Jason Jarvis will officiate. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be David Register, George Clarke, Curtis Sherman, Alan Watts, Trevor Rissler, Jeremy Hyde, and Tommy Stewart.
