Christine Zabel

Christine Marie Zabel, age 74, of Hoover, Alabama passed into the glory of our Lord on January 10th, 2023 at home with her family by her side after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church (PCA).

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, John Timothy and Mary F. Riordan, and brother, Charles Falstrom, all of Calumet City, Illinois. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William H. Zabel; daughters, Melissa Anne Hamley (Anthony), Megan Catherine Williamson (James); son, Daniel Herbert “Herb” Zabel (Michelle); three sisters, Gloria Grisafi, Mary Ann Perrie, Maureen Birch; brother, Lee Falstrom and nine grandchildren plus numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Chris had a deep love and relationship with the Lord our Savior and was involved in Women's bible studies for many years, including leadership in the Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) program. Chris was a devoted wife, mother, and “Nonna” to her grandchildren whom she deeply loved. An inspiration to many with her radiant smile, she will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Briarwood Presbyterian Church (PCA) at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 3rd, 2023. Pastor Jim Alexander will officiate.
