Betty Ann Nash, age 81, of Brierfield, Alabama passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Betty was born Wednesday, April 24, 1940 in Jefferson County Alabama, to George and Ethel Winslett. She was raised in Montevallo. Being the youngest of 9 siblings by many years did not stop Betty from always being the leader of the group. Betty met Chelse Nash while she was attending Montevallo High School and they began a lifelong romance. In sixty-one and a half years, they never spent more than 3 days apart. Betty enjoyed the outdoors, especially RV camping and Alaska. She was an avid reader, amazing crocheter, and infamous for her southern style biscuits made from scratch. Most importantly, her family always came first. She spent her life raising good children, doting on her grandchildren, and watching her great-grandchildren play. They could not have asked for a better Mam-Moo.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, George Harper Winslett and Ethel Lena Horn; and 8 older siblings.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband and soul mate, Chelse Nash; children, Cyndi Craig Nash, Doris Nash Sanders (Bubba), Timmy Nash (Mashanda); grandchildren, Christopher Pickett (Carolyn), Mande Kern (Stephen), Joey Pickett (Amber), Ricky Copeland, Andy Copeland, Trevor Sanders, Jacob Nash (Kayla), and Nikoal; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Betty was a role model to her children and grandchildren. She was a shoulder to cry on, a good bit of advice, or a stern talking to when ever they needed. She was so very loved, and will be missed by her family, friends, and community.
A graveside service for Betty will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Shelby Memory Gardens, 8586 Highway 25, Calera, Alabama 35040.
