Alan Tanner Smith

Alan Tanner Smith, age 50, of West Blocton, Alabama passed away from a lengthy battle with colorectal cancer on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Alan graduated from Montevallo High School, Class of 1991. He was a proud steel worker with US Steel. He enjoyed buying storage units with his wife and fixing items to resell. He also liked camping, trying new foods, joking around and watching Alabama football. He was a kind and generous person who will be terribly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. T. Smith. He is survived by his wife, Tanya Smith; his mother, Carla Smith; his step-daughter, Kristen Glass; brother, Steve Smith (Jennifer); sister, Joyce Patterson (Duane); nieces, Brooke Jones (Brandon) and Gracie Patterson; and great-niece, Claire Jones.

A visitation for Alan will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. Pastor Steve Logan will officiate.

Alan will be laid to rest in Montevallo City Cemetery, Highway 73, Montevallo, Alabama.
