Adele Londonia Tett, lovingly known as "Momma Tett," passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on April 3, 1933, Adele lived a life filled with love, creativity, and kindness. Her boundless devotion to family, friends, and community left an indelible mark on everyone she touched.
Momma Tett’s greatest joy was her children, in whose laughter she found joy and in whose love she discovered her purpose. Besides raising seven children of her own, she welcomed young people from the neighborhood into her home, offering shelter and guidance to all who needed it. Her warmth and generosity created a legacy that will be cherished for generations.
Adele’s creativity was unmatched—whether through her crocheting, knitting, sewing, or painting character statues, she brought beauty into the lives of others. Her cooking brought family and friends together, with her famous "mean soft tacos" being a beloved favorite. Adele also treasured traveling and found joy in cheering for the Dodgers, a passion she shared with many.
Adele is survived by her five beloved children: DeVera Marie Joe-Johnson, Marlon Leon Tett, D'Artanyon Rafael Tett, Denise Beatrice Tett, and Mimnette Londonia Story. She is also lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of cherished extended family members and friends.
She will be remembered for her compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Adele leaves behind a loving legacy, cherished by her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit continues to inspire and uplift those who carry her memory in their hearts.
