Steve attended Valley Heights High School and participated in theatre, played the trombone and football in Waterville, KS. He graduated in 1990. Steve was a recipient of the Kansas Board of Regents Scholarship, 1990. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan KS and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Psychology in 1994. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from City University. Steve also earned a Computer Engineer Certificate.
Steve married Yamileth in 1996 in the Dominican Republic and worked as a counselor for New Horizons in the Dominican Republic for two years. He was employed by Volt consulting, Microsoft and Expedia.
Steve was a loving husband, father, good provider and supportive friend. He enjoyed physical fitness, karate, and gourmet cooking.
He is survived by wife Yamileth, two sons Aaron and Isaiah, mother-JoAnn Swearingen of Newton Kansas, one brother-Raymond Swearingen of Snohomish Washington, two sisters-Theresa Lovell of Independence Missouri, Janet Banowetz and husband Ray of Edna Kansas. He is also survived by four nephews, one niece, two grand-nephews and four grandnieces.
Steve is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Services will be held at Cascade Community Church at 1PM at 14377 Fryelands Blvd SE Monroe, WA 98272.
