Hi Mom, I got a e mail telling me this was about to close. So I wanted to write to you and let you know, How much I Love and Miss you. We just had another Thanksgiving, All the boys were here, It was nice. Thought about you and Dad. Penny and I went to the Nutcracker, I wore your thumb print so you were there too. Hope you liked it. I did..Now Christmas is just around the corner. I hope you will come say hi, I hope you are looking down at the lights in our yard they are very pretty. Mom I love you so much, its so hard to believe it's been a year. I think of you every day and I hope you hear me when I talk to you. I wish you would give me a call, I have so much I would love to talk to you about. I bet your busy, please tell everyone hi for me. Mom life sure has changed, It's amazing how much you can miss someone. I talk to you all the time.I know you hear me. you know me I ramble, and I love to talk. you have always been a good listener, and you still are. I love you so much and I miss you. I know your happy and healthy now. But there is a emptyness in my heart that miss you everyday. I hope you know how much I love you. I love you so very much mom. Forever you will be in my heart. I had not heard that Aunt  Ruthie had passed away, I am sad to hear it. I have very early memories of so much fun at her house with all the girls. I always wished I had sisters like they did. Hope you are all doing well and that Auntie is resting in peace. Your niece & cousin,

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

I had the good fortune to grow up with the Falcon girls on Whidbey Island.  Like my mother, Ruth was single parent raising her daughters.  It wasn't an easy task, and she did the very best with what God gave her and she did so with strength and pride.

We had a close knit group of friends growing up and we either hung out at  my house or the Falcon house. Good times! I believe our mothers were grateful for the other, as each knew that where ever we were, that the other was watching over all of us. 

I wish I had the opportunity to thank Ruth, for being there...for being "Mom" to all of us.  

Life is full of second chances, but one thing it is not...is last chances.  I believe the best way to honor Ruth, her legacy, is to treat every opportunity, every chance, as if it were our last.

Our last chance to make amends or say "Thank you", "My life is better because you were/are in it", "I'm sorry", and "I love you".

Everyone at Village East loved Ruth -- I especially loved her for her sense of humor and her "tell it as it is" attitude.  She was special to me in so many ways and I will miss her a great deal -- my prayers to all her family.  I am so sorry she is not with us. Mary Ellen Buchanan

Dear Momma, I wrote you a poem I hope you like it!!

My Mother, My Dear, I wish you were here,
I'm trying to stay strong, I just can't believe your gone.
I tried to come be by your side, but you couldn't wait for my plane to fly,
God needed you with him and that is why I wasn't there to say goodbye.
I know we are never truly a part, as I will hold you forever in my heart.
I know I will see you again, in that far away place they call Heaven.
So when it's my turn to take that ride, save a seat for me by your side.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

 Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
 Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
 That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
 God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

 It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

 God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not  be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
