Marjorie Verlinde Dennis, 86, passed away quietly November 15, 2011 at Longview Hospice.
She was born on Christmas Eve, 1924, in Midwest, WY where her father, Harold Dennis, was a cowboy and oil driller.
Her mother, Oral Mae Smith, was a teacher. Her family moved to California in 1927 and in 1930 followed an uncle to Monroe, WA where they became farmers in Tualco. On Christmas Eve, 1942, she married her high school sweetheart, James E. Verlinde.
She is survived by three children, Karyn Akishin, James D. Verlinde and Trudy Pedersen. Also surviving is a brother, David Dennis; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Purdy & Kerr in Monroe at 409 W. Main on November 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no graveside service.
